Am Sonntag, dem 22. Januar, sind Sie herzlich zu einem Schnittmuster-, Nähzeitschriften- und Nähbüchertausch in den Laden in der Crellestrasse 17 eingeladen! Viele von Ihnen haben möglicherweise Schnittmuster aus denen Ihre Kinder herausgewachsen sind, oder Zeitschriften und Bücher die Sie nicht mehr brauchen, und wir dachten uns, das wäre doch ein lustiger, sozialer Weg das Bekannte gegen Unbekanntes einzutauschen! Wir laden Sie alle am 22. Januar zwischen 14:00 und 18:00 ein: Kommen Sie, bewaffnet mit Ihren Schnittmustern, Zeitschriften und Bastelbüchern - und dann möge der Tauschhandel beginnen! Erfrischungen werden bereitstehen und der Laden wird verkaufsoffen sein.

Mark the date in your calendar, Sunday, Jan.22,2012, because we would like to invite you all to a sewing or craft book, sewing pattern and sewing magazine swap! Many of you may have sewing patterns that your kids have outgrown or sewing books you have sewn cover to cover and we thought that this could be a fun way for you to trade the stuff you don't need or want anymore to get some fresh input for your creative stash!
So next Sunday from 14:00-18:00, we hope that y'all will stop by armed with your crafting treasures you would like to trade with some of your fellow craftistas.
Refreshments will be provided and our shop will also be open for business so why not stop by and join in?

here are images from an interactive art exhibit at the Gallery of Modern Art in Brisbane, "the obliteration room" by Yayoi Kusama.... here is some info from the GOMA Brisbane website: "The obliteration room 2011 revisits the popular interactive children’s project developed by Yayoi Kusama for the Queensland Art Gallery's ‘APT 2002: Asia Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art’. In this reworked and enlarged installation, an Australian domestic environment is recreated in the gallery space, complete with locally sourced furniture and ornamentation, all of which has been painted completely white. While this may suggest an everyday topography drained of all colour and specificity, it also functions as a blank canvas to be invigorated — or, in Kusama’s vocabulary, ‘obliterated’ — through the application, to every available surface, of brightly coloured stickers in the shape of dots."

Vorher & Nachher: Wow, Kinder und Aufkleber....

Das sind Abbildungen einer interaktiven Kunstaustellung in der Gallery of Modern Art in Brisbane, Australien, mit Titel "The Obliteration Room" ("Das Auslöschungzimmer") von Yayoi Kusama. Hier ein paar Informationen der GOMA Webseite: "'The obliteration room 2011'greift das Thema des populären interaktiven Kinder-Projektes wieder auf, das Yayoi Kusama für die Queensland Art Gallery für das 'APT 2002: Asia Pacific Triennale of Contemporary Art' entwickelte. In dieser überarbeiteten und erweiterten Installation wird ein typisch-australisches häusliches Umfeld im Austellungsraum rekonstruiert, vollständig mit lokal hergestellten Möbeln und Dekorationen, alles komplett weiß gestrichen. Dies mag zwar eine alltägliche Topographie leer von aller Farbe und Ausprägung andeuten, fungiert jedoch gleichzeitig als eine rohe Leinwand, die belebt, oder in Kusama's Vokabular, ausgelöscht wird - durch die Applikation von kleinen bunten Aufklebern in Form von Punkten auf jede verfügbare Fläche."
