Erin Michael's Lush

We used to have a Paint By Number deer painting hanging in our hallway that my grandpa had done, so....when I saw Erin Michael's new collection "Lush" I knew I had to have it.
I had ordered several more fabrics from this collection but I am afraid that some of the original designs haven't even been printed! I guess people in the States just didn't know what to make of this so they ordered cautiously. Go figure.

dorobot

Yesterday a customer wrote and asked if we would be getting a certain fabric in soon that is currently sold out. She also briefly mentioned what she uses the fabric for, she uses them in bookbinding so I asked if she could send me some photos of her books and I did a little exploring online and .....I found the work of doro ottermann aka dorobot. What great stuff! Doro is an illustrator and graphic artist who lives in Hamburg,Gemany. She makes really cool stuff. I checked out her Dawanda shop and bought something I have long needed....a "no" cardset! I think this could possibly make my life a whole lot easier....on the front of the cardset "It is really easy" is printed in German and inside there are fifty cards with the word "nein"(no) printed on them. Wow, perfect for people who have a hard time saying "no", I bought two sets! Her covered books will also be for sale shortly in her shop and I am hoping maybe her multiple choice diary will also be for sale. Thanks for writing, Doro!

brandon mably

Just got in a print, in several colorways, from Brandon Mably's first collection for Westminster. The print is called "Fish Lips". They are fairly wild.

Who is Brandon Mably? I will let him tell you himself:

About Brandon

"Who is Brandon you may wonder? I'm a guy brought up in a small seaside town on the coast of South Wales who is crazy about colour and design, and enthusiastic to share my pleasures with others.

How did I start out - Back in the 80's I turned from professional cooking to designing. This funny career change came about through an accidental meeting with the man that put knitting on the map - Kaffe Fassett.

My apprenticeship took place as I was attending to the organizing and running of the Kaffe Fassett studio, whilst watching Kaffe and his team design and execute commissions and create the books he is now famous for. Kaffe would often ask for my input on the designs he was creating and liking my intuitive answers encouraged me to try and design myself.

I entered Kaffe Fassett's world with no experience but discovered a natural instinct for colour and design. This has grown as I have had the opportunity of teaching and encouraging others and there is nothing more rewarding to me than encouraging others to have a go themselves! It has taught me one thing beyond all others - most people have buried in them a sense of colour and design."
