organic cotton info evening

On Thursday August 26, 2010 Lebenskleidung, RevoluzZza, Common Works, Siebenblau and Volksfaden cordially invite all of you who might be interested in finding out more about organic cotton fabrics to come and spend the evening with us at the Kunstfabrik am Flutgraben, Flutgraben 3, 12435 Berlin. Doors open at 18:00 and starting at 19:00 we will have three different speakers to tell you a little about the production process of organic cotton fabric, the differences in conventionally produced cotton and organically grown cotton fabrics and a little bit about the growing interest in organic cotton fabrics in the world of fashion. There will also be a question and answer session in case you still have questions that weren't answered. We also will have alot of sewn inspiration for you, designers who have designed and sewn clothing just for this event will be displayed, organic cotton fabric up for the buying and much more...Hope to see you there!

I really like Jenn Ski's illustration style so I was really delighted to see that P&B Textiles had commissioned a fabric collection from her....pictured above are fabrics from Jenn Ski's cute retro styled collection "Aldo To Zippy" which have just been put on our virtual shelves at volksfaden....

I am no hurry for the summer to end, but have started putting fabrics online for those of you who are thinking ahead to the cooler days in autumn....some very soft and cuddly flannels from Anne Kelle in cute retro flower prints, and Valori Wells owls, butterflies and flowers....

The weather has gotten a little cooler here in Berlin....I hope our summer isn't over yet, but looking towards the fall, I did just put our newest corduroy fabrics online.
These are all from the Robert Kaufman "Cool Cords" collection and the can be found by volksfaden here.

Ladyville Tutorial 9 - Tellerrock Nähanleitung

Here is the lovely lady of LADYVILLE herself, Sandra Striffler, and her newest dvd tutorial, #9 Swirly Skirt(Tellerrock). She shows you all how to make not only a zipperless, swirly skirt for yourself, ladies, but also for your daughters! You can see a clip from the newest dvd above, which we will be carrying soon. I really am impressed with these dvds, she explains so well and it so easy to follow her instructions. For this project she used organic cotton fabric from volksfaden, (thank you very much Sandra....) Daisy Apples Blue and an organic cotton jersey, Jersey Indigo Stripe. We also have an organic cotton black and white jersey, similiar to the fabric she has used for ladyskirt...all of these fabrics can be found in our organic cotton category.

Free As A Bird

Stof A/S Denmark has expanded their fabric production and these fabrics from the collection "Free As A Bird" are some of their newest designs. I think this is a great collection for kids rooms, on the Stof site you can see some quilts and other things that have been made with these fabrics. If you click on Gallery and then Free As A Bird, 21 pages of ideas are shown...the fabrics are on our virtual shelves now at volksfaden.
