Hallo meine Lieben,
mein Name ist Diana, ich lebe mit meinem Mann, meiner Tochter und meinen beiden Katzen in Berlin.
Ich bin in Lichterfelde aufgewachsen, sehr idyllisch und ländlich damals, am Rande von Berlin.
Schon als kleines Mädchen habe ich das Stricken, Nähen und Basteln für mich entdeckt. Gardinen, Bettlaken und auch jeder andere Stoffschnipsel wurde von mir verarbeitet. Nichts war vor mir sicher, meine Mutter könnte an dieser Stelle einiges sagen, aber das lassen wir jetzt lieber mal ;-)
Beruflich wollte ich unbedingt etwas Kreatives machen. Der Zufall wollte, dass ich eine Berufsausbildung als Friseurin und Kosmetikerin machte. Schnell merkte ich aber, dass das nicht das Richtige für mich war. Mehrere Jahre arbeitete ich im KaDeWe als Verkäuferin, anschließend versuchte ich mein Glück im Büro.
2009 entdeckte ich den Onlineshop Volksfaden und war schwer begeistert von Lindas Stoffen. Sie wohnte damals ganz in meiner Nähe, ich fragte sie ob ich nicht kurz vorbeikommen könnte. Wir verstanden uns so gut, dass Sie mir 2010 einen Minijob in ihrem neu eröffneten Ladengeschäft anbot. Ich überlegte nicht lange, denn was gibt es schöneres als sein Hobby zum Beruf zu machen.
Inzwischen sind 6 Jahre vergangen. Volksfaden ist ein fester Bestandteil im Schöneberger Kiez geworden und ich arbeite nach wie vor unglaublich gern in diesem Laden.
Leider spielt das Schicksal oft mit unschönen Karten und Linda entschloss sich aus gesundheitlichen Gründen Volksfaden aufzugeben. Für mich war das natürlich ein Schock, den ich erstmal verdauen musste.
Nach gründlicher Überlegung, schlaflosen Nächten und einer großen Portion Mut habe ich mich nun entschlossen Volksfaden zum 01.06. zu übernehmen. Ich liebe diesen Laden, unseren Kiez, die liebevoll geführten kleinen Geschäfte, unsere Stammkunden und eigentlich alles was damit zu tun hat.
Volksfaden MUSS bleiben und ich hoffe sehr, dass ihr weiterhin unseren Laden besucht oder online bestellt, damit es weitergehen kann.
Natürlich werde ich weiterhin das Stoffsortiment genauso beibehalten, wie es war. Schöne bedruckte Baumwollstoffe, Jersey, Bündchen, Feincord, Fleece und Nikki Stoffe warten genauso auf Euch, wie ein kleines Sortiment von Kurzwaren und Knöpfen.
Eine Neuheit wird es geben, die mir sehr am Herzen liegt. Meine Vorliebe für Mode aus den 40iger, 50iger Jahre möchte ich gern bei Volksfaden einbringen. Vintage Schnittmuster, Kopfschmuck und Nähkurse möchte ich Euch gern anbieten. Ich habe exklusiv für Volksfaden schon drei Zusagen von Berliner Vintage-Labels eingeholt, die mit Euch feminine Kleider, Röcke und Blusen nähen werden.
Im Moment arbeite ich den Kursplan aus. Auf dem Volksfaden-Blog und auf unserem Onlineshop könnt ihr Euch alles Infos holen.
Näheres dazu wird es von mir im Juli geben. Die Nähkurse starten nach den großen Ferien.
Die Öffnungszeiten bleiben wie gehabt, nur montags ist der Laden dann zusätzlich von 10-15 Uhr auf und donnerstags werde ich bis 20 Uhr für Euch da sein.
Volksfaden wird vom 6. bis 11.6.2016 geschlossen sein und erst wieder am 14.6.2016 die Tür öffnen. Hier und da möchte ich etwas verändern und ich hoffe ihr seid neugierig und kommt mal vorbei um Hallo zu sagen. Wer es nicht in den Laden schafft, kann wenn er möchte, auf dem Volksfadenblog die Renovierungsarbeiten mit verfolgen.
Da ich mich noch nicht bei Euch für die vielen guten Wünsche bedankt habe, möchte ich dies nun an dieser Stelle tun. Es ist schön soviel Zuspruch zu bekommen.
Ein Abenteuer... Für Linda und auch für mich. Unsere Wege trennen sich nicht wirklich, wir werden weiterhin für einander da sein. Ein gutes Gefühl...

Hi!
My name is Diana, I live with my husband, my daughter and my two cats in Berlin.
I grew up in Lichterfelde, very idyllic and rural at the time, on the outskirts of Berlin.
As a young girl I discovered knitting, sewing and other crafty activities. Curtains, bed linen and other fabric scraps were constantly being "upcycled" by me. Nothing was safe from me, my mother could say alot at this point, but we can save that for another time ;-)
Professionally I wanted to do something creative. I completed a vocational training as a hairdresser and beautician, but I quickly realized that this was not right for me. I then worked several years in sales at KaDeWe as a shop assistant, and then I tried my luck at office work.
In 2009 I discovered the online shop Volksfaden and was really inspired by Linda's fabrics. She lived near me, I asked her if I could stop by. We hit right off so well that she offered me a mini job offering in her new store in Schöneberg in 2010. I didn't hesitate, because what could be better than to turn a hobby into a career.
Meanwhile, six years have passed. Volksfaden has become an inherent part of Schöneberg and the work the store is still an incredible joy for me!
Unfortunately, fate often plays with unfair cards and Linda decided for health reasons to step back from Volksfaden. For me this was obviously a shock, I had to digest first.
After careful consideration, sleepless nights and a big dose of courage, I decided to take over Volksfaden on 01.06.2016. I love this store, our neighborhood, all the great small businesses there, our regular customers and actually everything that has to do with Volksfaden!
Volksfaden MUST stay and I hope that you will continue to visit our store or our online shop, so it can go on.
Of course I will continue to maintain the fabric range exactly as it was. Beautiful printed cotton fabrics, jersey, rib, corduroy, fleece and Nikki fabrics will await you, as will a small assortment of haberdashery and buttons.
Something that is close to my heart is my fondness for fashion from the 40's, 50's which I would like to bring to Volksfaden. Vintage Sewing Patterns, headdress and sewing classes will be a new addition to the sewing courses I plan to offer. Volksfaden will be offering sewing classes from three Berlin Vintage labels who can't wait to sew up some lovely feminine dresses, skirts and blouses with you!
I'm currently working out the course schedule. I will keep you up to date on the Volksfaden-blog and on our online shop.
I will have more info for you in July. The sewing classes start after the summer holidays.
The opening times remain the same, only on Mondays, the store will also open from 10-15 pm and on Thursdays and I will be there until 20:00 for you.
Volksfaden will be closed from 06. until11.6.2016. We will reopen on 14.6.2016. Here and there a few changes will be made and I hope you're curious and will stop by to say hello. Whoever can't make it to the store can watch the whole on the Volksfaden blog unfold.

An adventure ... For Linda and for me. Our paths diverge not really, we will continue to be there for each other. Feels good...
